PORTRAITURE
Portraiture, like much of art, encapsulates a theme, a moment, or an emotion that attracts its audience by the use of contrast, vibrance in color and composition. While using a variety of mediums, these works focus on the use of traditional techniques in non-traditional compositions to create a captivating atmosphere in which the subject lives, breathes and invites its audience to become enthralled.
COMMISIONED
Not everyone has the confidence to produce art, however, everyone has an imagination. This work is one that sprouted in one persons mind and I helped make bloom. The result being, Lola, an adorable pup who had no idea she would become the middle of someone's picture or world.
The process can be incredibly gratifying. Being the driving force of this transformation is one of the many pleasures an artist can humble themselves to. This piece originally intended to be laser cut on wood, evolved into a personal project that has now made its home on the back of my day to day life. It continues to inspire me as it transforms from medium to medium.
FUN PROJECTS
These are a couple of the short and sweet projects that kept my creative juices and skills growing. The first, scenes from around Chicago, my hometown and favorite city taught me to investigate my surroundings using lines and depth. The second, an array of colorful landscapes that allowed a great deal of experimentation with new mediums and techniques.
